Davidson Academy has once again been recognized among the nation’s top high schools by U.S. News & World Report, earning the #4 spot in the nation in the 2026–2027 Best High Schools rankings. This marks the second consecutive year Davidson Academy has ranked #4 nationally.
U.S. News & World Report’s annual rankings evaluate public high schools across the country based on several measures of academic performance, including state assessment results, graduation rates, college readiness and other factors. Davidson Academy also ranks #1 among high schools in Nevada.
As a public school designed specifically for profoundly gifted students, Davidson Academy offers an educational experience tailored to students’ advanced academic abilities. Students are placed in courses based on demonstrated ability rather than age or traditional grade level, allowing them to pursue challenging coursework at a pace and level that fits their individual needs.
The Academy’s individualized approach to education gives students opportunities to explore their interests, challenge themselves academically and learn alongside intellectual peers. Students may also have the opportunity to take University of Nevada, Reno courses when appropriate.
