Davidson Academy students Logan Vimalaraj and Justin Baratta were recently named winners of the 2025 Congressional App Challenge for Nevada’s Second Congressional District with their app Insight. The Congressional App Challenge is an official initiative of the U.S. House of Representatives that encourages middle and high school students to learn to code, explore computer science, and create practical technology solutions for their communities.
Logan and Justin created Insight after realizing that many coding resources were confusing, expensive, or overwhelming for beginners. Wanting a better way to learn, they built an app that uses AI-powered tools to personalize lessons and help users learn at their own pace.
Each participating Member of Congress selects one winning app from their district, and as district winners, Logan and Justin receive national recognition for their work. Winning teams are invited to showcase their projects to Members of Congress, congressional staff, and industry leaders at the annual #HouseOfCode celebration on Capitol Hill.
