24 Davidson Academy students traveled to Orlando, Florida to compete in the 2025 DECA International Career Development Conference (ICDC), held April 24–29. This marked one of the Academy’s largest ICDC delegations to date.
Several students earned distinguished honors at the competition. Arnav Akhaury was named a finalist in Quick Serve Restaurant Management, and Harry Park advanced to the finals in Principles of Finance. Shruthi Inamdar reached the semifinal round in the Entrepreneurship Series event and was recognized onstage with a medal for her achievement. Notably, both Harry and Shruthi are first-year DECA members, while Arnav completed his fourth and final year in the program.
Arnav also received the 2025 Marriott Foundation ICDC Travel Scholarship, a $750 award that helped fund his attendance at the conference. He was recognized onstage during the Grand Awards Ceremony and celebrated the honor at a special dinner for scholarship recipients.
In addition to competitive success, Davidson Academy senior Harmony Chien played an active leadership role throughout the week as Nevada DECA’s Vice President of Hospitality. She helped welcome Nevada students to the conference, participated in a Leadership Academy program, and co-hosted a post-ceremony ice cream social. Her efforts throughout the week contributed to a memorable experience for both Davidson and fellow Nevada DECA members.
