(Reno, Nev.) – The Davidson Academy is pleased to announce its graduating class of 2022. This year’s class includes 18 students from the Davidson Academy, a free public school for profoundly gifted students located in Reno, Nevada, and six students from Davidson Academy Online, an option for students living anywhere is the U.S. and Canada.

Baker, Burkhardt, Choi, Goodman, Keith-Handschuh, Li, Liu, Maligireddy, and Schneider are among the National Merit Scholar Finalists. Additionally, Schneider was recognized as one of two students in Nevada to be named a U.S. Presidential Scholar, and Liu was named a semifinalist.

In 1999, the Davidsons founded the Davidson Institute, a national nonprofit located in Reno that supports our nation’s brightest young people. In 2006 the Davidson Academy opened as a unique type of public school located on the University of Nevada, Reno campus, called a “university school for profoundly gifted pupils” (Nevada Revised Statute 388C), for middle and high school profoundly gifted students. In 2017, Davidson Academy Online, an online school for profoundly gifted middle and high school students living anywhere in the United States and Canada, was launched.
