Davidson Academy Earns National Speech & Debate Association’s Leading Chapter Award

The Davidson Academy has received the 2025–2026 Leading Chapter Award for the Sagebrush (NV) District from the National Speech & Debate Association (NSDA). This is the highest recognition the NSDA gives to a member school.

The award goes to the top school in each district, based on the members and degrees its students have accumulated through participation over time. Out of more than 3,000 NSDA member schools nationwide, The Davidson Academy is one of only 108 to receive the honor this year. Schools that earn the award must wait at least five years before they’re eligible again, which makes the recognition especially meaningful.

The Academy’s award reflects 384 members and degrees earned over 11 years of competition. In a letter announcing the honor, NSDA Executive Director J. Scott Wunn praised the program’s dedication to its students and to speech and debate education.

The Sagebrush District chair will present the team with a commemorative plaque at the 2026–2027 district tournament.
