I’m deeply honored to return to Nevada and serve as your State Superintendent of Public Instruction.

My journey in education began as a teacher in my 5th-grade classroom, where I witnessed both the barriers that limit opportunity and what’s possible when students are given the expectations and support they deserve. That experience has guided everything I’ve done since, from recruiting and developing exceptional educators, to shaping education policy, and leading teams committed to advancing educational excellence for all students in Nevada and across the nation.

I was drawn back to the Silver State because this is a defining moment for public education in Nevada. Together, we can ensure that every student graduates prepared for success, ready to enroll in higher education, apply their skills in the workforce, or enlist in service to their community or country.

As I begin this new chapter, my first 100 days will focus on three priorities:

1. Set a Shared Direction: Clarify our statewide priorities, align efforts around what works, and celebrate success.
2. Strengthen State Capacity: Continue making progress toward a more agile, responsive, and service-driven Department of Education.
3. Lead Through Partnership: Listen deeply, learn from those closest to the work, and strengthen trust across Nevada’s education community.

Nevada’s Battle Born spirit reminds us that real progress happens when we lead together, with urgency, optimism, and shared purpose. I look forward to listening, learning, and working alongside you to deliver on the promise of public education for every Nevada student.
